MassLNC Development Activity for FY14

Fiscal Year 2015 is right around the corner. Like many of our Evergreen libraries, MassLNC is busy wrapping up FY14 and looking back on what we've accomplished over the past year. We're also beginning to plan ahead for next year's projects.

MassLNC 2014 Conference Handouts and Survey

Thank you to everyone who attended or spoke at Wednesday's MassLNC Users Conference at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill. The conference featured some great discussions and useful information on Evergreen and the MassLNC project.

MassLNC is gradually posting handouts/Powerpoint presentations to the conference schedule page. Not all speakers had canned presentations that can be posted, but we do plan to have all of the prepared material up by the end of next week. Read more »

MassLNC Seeks Quote to Connect Evergreen to SHAREit

MassLNC is seeking quotes to develop an interface that will facilitate communication between Evergreen and SHAREit (provided by the
company, Auto-Graphics). The interface will need to respond to NCIP version 2 messages.

Report from Evergreen Performance Evaluation

OmniTI performed an Evergreen software evaluation on Evergreen this past fall on behalf of the Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative. The performance evaluation evaluated the Evergreen database, staff client and messaging framework.

The study was mostly funded with a Library Services and Technology Act grant authorized through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Congratulations to Evergreen Conference Scholarship Recipients

The Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative is pleased to announce that eight people will be attending the 2014 Evergreen International Conference in March due to scholarships from MassLNC and from Equinox Software, Inc.

MassLNC Seeks Quotes for Development of Evergreen and of the Syrup Course Reserves System

The Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative is seeking quotes for development of enhancements to the Evergreen Integrated Library System. The project descriptions and instructions for vendors/developers are available at http://masslnc.cwmars.org/node/2909.

Celebrating a New Development Partnership

MassLNC is ringing in the New Year with a new development partnership that will provide more flexibility on how Evergreen sites can use format icons in the catalog.

The Multi-valued Record Attributes and Controlled Record Attributes (MVF/CRA) development project will allow sites to use different icons to easily distinguish between books and e-books, for example, or between VHS, Blu-ray, and DVD. MassLNC October 2013 Update

Evergreen 2.5

The Evergreen developers released the beta version of 2.5 at the end of September. The beta release is when new features are cut off for a specific release and gives us a definitive idea of what features will be available. Please note that your library will not see these features until your consortium upgrades to 2.5 (or, in the case of MVLC, during your next update), and the timing of this upgrade varies by consortium.
