Reports

Editable templates

When developing a new template in the reporter, in order to add, remove, or fix an element, you have to clone the original report to do so.  It would hugely helpful to be able to edit existing templates (by the template owner).

Decision Support System

I would envision this to be web pages using the staff login for authentication that would display a configurable set of reports on a single or multiple page which would be configuration and provide totals.  For instance,  staff would login to their account and see a page that displays their hourly circulation figures, holds filled, open holds and provides totals for each table on a single page.  Another page could be set up to time to fill holds and holds ratios. Edit options after the report has been run

1. Email when the report is completed.  When setting up reports I have included my email and some others.  My email box is now overflowing and the only way to eliminate this is to go back and completely recreate the report.  I would like to open, edit and save after completed to:

  • delete unnecessary emails
  • add additional emails

2. Modify reports slightly without having seven versions of a clone report. Read more »

Provide a way to search report templates by title, keyword and tag

22

We have lots of report templates and despite our best efforts to label them and organize them into folders, it's still hard to find the right one.  It's actually pretty easy to run a report once you have found the right template, but I think the complications of trying to figure out which template you need is a real barrier for our users. Could we get a menu option for Reports?

5

Right now, you have to create a new tab then click on Reports from the Evergreen Main Menu. That makes it a two step process to get into Reports. I think Reports rates as much as Circulation, Cataloging and Acquisitions, enough to have it's own menu too :) Just having it bring up the Reports interface would be nice. It would be even cooler to have options like:

Create new Report Template

Create new Report from Template (this would require an admin to initialize some parameter for where the canned reports reside).

Go to my Reports

Go to my Output

Would like to receive a timeout notice in the Reports interface

1

It would be really nice if the Reports interface would let you know that your login has timed out. Right now, you click on "Reports" from the main menu; It puts up the three buttons for the Reports interface and the gray stripe that says "loading...", and just sits...

Default Report and Output folders would be nice

The interface actually retains the title of the previous report that was set up, which is probably not intentional.  This is annoying.  However, it would be nice to have it retain the previous folder names that one uses so that unless you want to change it, you can continue to run reports in the same folder.

Would be nice to view values chosen for parameters when submitting template to run report.

8

After you submit a template to create a report, there's no way to remind yourself what parameters you gave it.  An enhancement to allow this may be incorporated into a couple of ideas already on this ideas list: Read more »

Create a "Do Not Weed" flag for items

38

It would be helpful if there was a way to mark individual items as items that should not be weeded, in order to keep them from showing up on weeding lists or prompt staff to check with subject specialists before it got deleted.

Use cases for this flag would be local history items that we would never want to weed regardless or circulation activity (or inactivity), fiction classics and other "core" titles, very expensive items, items donated as gifts. Read more »
