We have workarounds using reports to do inventory processes, but it would be nice to have a fully fleshed out inventory module (this is one of the areas where many other ILSes have an advantage over Evergreen).

Web Client - improvements for mobile devices

One of the benefits of moving to a web client will be making the client more mobile, but opening it on a small screen at this point doesn't resolve nicely because of how much content there is and how it is laid out.

Making the interface work nicely on a small tablet or smart phone is a desirable long-term goal.

Another request is to take advantage of a mobile device's camera to allow the device to scan barcodes into the web client. This woiuld remove the necessity of attaching a third party barcode scanner or typing in the barcode manually.

Checkbox for Library Specific Messages

We have an option on our registration cards that allows Patron A to give permission for other patrons to pick up their holds (without Patron A's card). This can be added via the alert field or by adding an alert via Messages, and the wording is inconsistant depending on who registers the patron. I would love a checkbox on the register patron tab that would just produce this alert - could either be set state-wide for one setting or else be library-specific (set by the circ manager or something) depending on whether libraries ask every patron a specific question.

Show closed dates in date picker

The date picker (showed when editing the shelf expire time, due dates, etc.) should show dates on which the library is closed by, for example dimming these dates or showing them in a different form of the typeface (perhaps italics). Mouseover text should also indicate that the library is closed on that date.

This will help avoid errors in which staff mistakenly extend a due date or shelf expiration date onto a holiday.

Improved Printing Options in Staff Client

An example improvment would be ability to configure label templates to diverse outputs, e.g. sheets of labels or rolls or labels, directly in the staff client, without having to fiddle with forms or converters outside of Evergreen.

Better handling of Not Cataloged messages during barcode Upload From File

The Item Status screen lets you enter barcodes or upload them from a file. When text that is not an item barcode is encountered a "Not Cataloged" dialogue is diplayed, which is appropriate when entering individual barcodes, but a disaster when uploading barcodes from a file. A file may contain hundreds of lines of text which are not valid item barcodes (even if they once were—the items may have been deleted) and requiring the user to aknowledge a dialogue box for each greatly diminishes the usefulness of this tool. Allow libraries to update their own hours

Currently, we cannot allow libraries to update their own hours (or contact info / addresses) because they are part of the org unit settings and we do not give the libraries permissions at that level. It would be helpful if this information were split out so that libraries could do this themselves, just as they can change their own library settings and their own closed dates.

Improve error info for Deleted items

If a barcode is scanned for an item that has been deleted, it would be helpful if the error message indicated the date that the item was deleted and the ID of the staff person who deleted it.

Survey Improvements

When setting up the survey, if a date is added incorrectly, it doesn’t give error or save. A date picker would be nice.

Survey can’t start current day or in past (but doesn’t give error) – must hit reload to refresh the page and show the ability to add a question to a newly created survey.

Patron Self-Registration: Improve pending registration findability

Currently, you have to know which location the patron selected when they filled out the patron self-registration form. If the patron chose the wrong location, there is not an easy way to find the pending application.

We would like to be able to display all pending applications for a system, or all pending applications for the consortium.

It would also be nice to be able to search for a pending application.
