Select multiple items from search results to place holds

26

Our patrons would like to be able to select multiple items from a search results page and place holds on all of them rather than having to go through several steps for each one.

(Also - place them on a list as in http://masslnc.org/node/3132, and also print the selected ones or export them as a CSV)

E-mail improvement

4

Instead of e-mailing a record to the e-mail associated with the account, allow the patron to insert an e-mail address.  It could auto-fill with the account e-mail, but allow it to be changed to send a record to someone else.

Instead of a subject line of "Bibliographic Records" autofill the subject line with the title of the record, with the option to alter, e.g. "to read" or "for Aunt Authra."  And allow option to add a note.

A e-mail option more like that in WorldCat.

A library staffer wrote:

"I was creating a list from the PAC the other day. What a pain! I would love to be able to check the items on a single PAC page that I want and THEN load them to a list. Any chance?"

Pop up calendar for reactivating a hold

4

I like that staff have a pop up calendar to tell eg when to reactivate a hold. Will the patron be able to do this? (it would have to be made clear that this is the date the system will begin searching for the item, not the date the item will come in for the patron.)

Printing from the Catalog

30

There needs to be a way to print a list of records, or a single record, in a way that allows significant user control over the resulting printout, in order to save paper, and also for usability. Patrons should be able to select records and check off what parts of the record they want to print - brief, full, local item info (call number), all item info, sort order etc. Read more »

Add the ability to truncate long fields in bibliographic records

5

Sometimes MARC records have really long fields of information that don't fit well on the search results screen or even the full record screen. This is especially true of contents and summary notes, but it's occasionally true of titles, subtitles and statements of responsibility. It would make it easier to deal with these if we could set a limit of the length of the field to display, with a link to "More," something that's common in blogging. Read more »

Alternate patron names

Patron Records: We would like the ability to store one or more alternate name fields. This would make it easier to find records under former names or different configurations of the same name

Improve workflow for marking items damaged / clearing damaged status

22

I'd like a button on a drop down from CIRCULATION called "working with damaged items" Here, you'd have the ability to BILL THE LAST PATRON. I'd also like that function to have the ability to easily scan in and clear the items from DAMAGED (make them "reshelving") rather than having to go to ITEM STATUS to clear each time. Too many steps now.
