A Sneak Peek at Hard Due Dates and Warning Prompts

Happy New Year to the MassLNC community. I hope everyone is enjoying the first few days of 2011. The New Year has brought some exciting news for the MassLNC project. A couple of the development projects in which MassLNC has been involved are coming to an end.

MassLNC Issues RFQ for URSA Interoperability

The Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative is inviting vendors and developers to respond to a Request for Quotes to develop an interface that will facilitate communication between Evergreen and URSA 2.6. The Massachusetts Virtual Catalog uses URSA 2.6 to support resource-sharing among 14 distinct library systems.

MassLNC to Fund Some Evergreen Enhancements

The Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative (MassLNC) has contracted with Equinox to develop a couple of  enhancements for Evergreen.

MassLNC is funding development to provide a one-click method for accessing a patron's bill record from the check-in screen when that patron has checked in an overdue item. The MassLNC Open Source Project (OSP) Task Force believed this enhancement was important for improving workflow at the circulation desk.

MassLNC Issues RFP for Cataloging Enhancements

The Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative is inviting vendors and developers to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop cataloging enhancements for the Evergreen ILS.

King County Goes Live on Evergreen

King County Library System in Washington went live on Evergreen last week. The library system had secured a $1 million grant in 2009 to facilitate the adoption of open source automation software in libraries. Much of the recent development happening in Evergreen has been funded by KCLS.

Answers to Vendor Questions for August 2010 Development RFQ

MassLNC has posted responses to the four questions it received regarding the Request for Quotes (RFQ) to develop enhancements for the Evergreen ILS. Responses to the RFQ are due to the MassLNC office by Wednesday, September 22, 2010.

Automatic Client Updates in Evergreen

Automatic client updates may soon be coming to Evergreen thanks to the work of MVLC Assistant Network Administrator Thomas Berezansky. The Staff Client Build/Update Enhancement was committed yesterday to trunk, the version of Evergreen where any development is added and tested before it is incorporated into a stable release.

The Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative is inviting vendors and developers to respond to a Request for Quotes (RFQ) to develop enhancements for the Evergreen ILS. The RFQ contains eight enhancement projects for Evergreen, but we invite respondents to provide quotes for one or any number of the projects outlined in the document. Read more »

MassLNC Enhancement Possibilities Taking Shape

The networks participating in the MassLNC project have been making steady progress in identifying development needs for Evergreen. After identifying several top priorties for enhancements based on our testing of Evergreen and on ideas we have received from member libraries, MassLNC is ready to issue its first RFQ for development services. Several enhancements will be included in the RFQ.

Hard Due Date Development Project

MassLNC is participating in its first development partnership for the Evergreen Integrated Library System. We will be jointly funding development for end-of-semester and fixed due dates. Bibliomation, Inc. in Connecticut is the lead on this project, and three others partners are involved in the project as well.
