A linear call-number browse list with no book jacket covers.
This enhancement is currently under consideration for the MassLNC search improvement project.
MassLNC is actively seeking quotes for this project.
The MassLNC Development Committee decided not to pursue this development proejct at this time. With the 2.3 release, we can now limit call number browsing to a particular library, solving part of the problems with the previous call number browse. The remaining issue is a matter of layout. I will spend some time working on a customization to improve the layout on this screen. I'll keep this idea as an active idea in case development is needed even with the new scoping and the improvements I am able to make to the layout.
There's also the problem that it doesn't work very well. For example, I tried a call number browse, limited to Chelmsford Main Library. I entered 133.95/Pete (an item I know exists) and that item does come up in the center of the display. However, the next item listed has call number 133/Zuka
If I re-do the search (F3 for new search, numeric search, call number browse, limit to Chelmsford Main Library) and just enter 133 as the search term, I get:
133/Barc133/Harp133/Mors133/Nick133.03/Gree (center item)133.03/Man/1995/v. 1
(No 133/Zuka - which is a known item.)...
I have screenshots I could email to you, if it would be helpful.
