Allow staff to edit record buckets in the PAC through the My Lists (bookbags) interface (and vice versa)

All record buckets associated with a staff client login should be found in the My Lists section when that login is used to login to the PAC.

The user should be able to make these buckets public or private from either interface. (This would require the addition of a "make public / make private" toggle to the "bucket actions" dropdown in the staff client.) Read more »

Add column time notified to the patron items out screen.

It would be great if there was a column called TIME NOTIFIED 2 day REMINDER and a column TIME NOTIFIED OVERDUE in the patron’s items out screen so we could tell on our end the date and time.

Horizontal patron display in web-based interface

Currently, the future web-based Evergreen software being planned for in 2 or 3 versions will not allow a horizontal patron display as we are currently using now.  Hence, all brief patron information will default to the left side, as was the original default when we first started using Evergreen.  It is important in a busy Circulation environment for staff to see all patron information as quickly as possible without scrolling.  Additionally, if the web-based design continues to use columns, there will be less room for them if the patron information is on the side.  I am a Read more »

Allow Deletion of Copy Locations

Libraries need to be able to delete obsolete copy locations from the system.  Currently, copy locations cannot be deleted if they are associated with a copy, even if that copy itself is deleted.  This means that obsolete copy locations continue to display among the library's list of copy locations in the copy editor.  These defunct locations cause confusion and are sometimes selected inadvertently when new copies are added. Add "format" column in holds screen in staff client

This feels like it's something that's already available and I just haven't found it - but really, I've looked.

Patrons will call in and ask us to check their accounts to see what they have on hold, and what number in line they are.  Almost every time I'll read off the title and number, and the patron will ask, "now, is that the audiobook?"  or "is that hold for the large print edition?" Read more »

I know the staff client is changing, but here is something I think would be very helpful.  Currently when you click into an item in the catalog, and view the item holdings, the barcode is a clickable link to the Item Status screen. Read more »

Better tabs in the OPAC

The search options (basic, advanced, numeric, etc.) should be presented in a single line of tabs that follow normal user interfaces practices (i.e., the same tabs would show on every search page, in the same place each time, with the selected tab highlighted).

When Aborting a Transit, items should not automatically get "Reshelving" status.

When a staff user aborts a transit on an item, the item always gets the status "Reshelving" regardless of the staff user's branch.

Use case:

An item belonging to "Adams Branch" is in transit to fill a hold at "Baker Branch". The Baker Branch patron no longer wants the item, and a staff user at Baker Branch cancels the hold and chooses to abort the transit when prompted, the item appears to now be on the shelf at Adams Branch, and can appear on Adams Branch's pull list if there are additional holds.

Warning if duplicate PO Name being created

When creating a PO, if the PO name already exists, we get a warning stating that a PO with that name already exists, with the option to open the existing PO in a new tab. Staff would get the option to cancel the PO creation or return to put in a different PO name.  The way it is set up right now, Evergreen allows you to create a duplicate order by giving it an altered PO name.

Interface should provide a clear distinction between delayed and cancelled items

The cancelled lineitem status is used for two distinct types of order statuses: those that are truly cancelled (i.e. the cancel reason is configued to not keep debits) and those that are just delayed (i.e. the cancel reason is configured to keep debits). The acquisitions interface should make a clear distinction between these two different statuses. 

This idea was raised at the fall 2013 acquisitions meeting and was identified as a top priority for acquisitions. Read more »

Improve Acquisitions Search

BLANK VALUES -- Ability to Search in acquisitions general search for "null" or blank values.

Use Case:  Springfield staff member forgot to add the date and initials to Payment Auth in several invoices over a prolonged time frame.  Right now, Evergreen will not allow a search using the criteria "I-Payment Auth IS blank" to find those invoices that need correcting.

Patrons and librarians frequently need to change the search scope, and the vast majority of the time they are switching between their default scope and the top-level (all libraries) scope. A button that provided an easy means to do this would be very helpful.

Integrate Novelist Select readlikes into receipts

I know this has been brought up before, but I can't find it and don't know if this functionality already exists.  However, is it possible to include readlike suggestions from Novelist on checkout receipts?  We have Novelist Select suggestions already displaying in the catalog, and I learned at PLA that 3M can include these suggestions on self-check receipts, and we would love to be able to include them on all receipts.  Thanks.

Make email notifications customizable like receipts

I'm sure this is much harder than I think, but would it be possible to make all email notifications locally-customizable, like receipts are?  That way, libraries could easily customize the message sent out for hold notifications, return warnings, etc, instead of all libraries having to share the same template.

Ability to search for patrons by name or barcode from the catalog when placing holds in the client

When you look up a title in the client, and go to place a hold, you have to know the patrons barcode and cannot do anything witht he a patron name.  Our libraries would like the ability to be able to look up the barcode from the same screen but more importantly look up the patrons name without opening another tab.
