Carry through and display search settings on screens in the hold process

When I'm searching the catalog - say for the summer reading book Wonder - I'll set Type=Title, Format=All Books, Library=Chelmsford Main in the basic search boxes.  Of course they're all checked out, so I'll place the patron on hold for it. Read more »

why do we need a pop up box for an item when you check out to say "in process"? does this serve any purpose, can it be eliminated?

I'm placing this in the Under Development category since it is part of the alerts development that Equinox has been working on.

Need Ability to Place Multiple Holds Simultaneously

39

We need the ability to place multiple title level holds simultaneously on a bib record. The most common use cases are for patrons (or staff, for that matter) needing multiple copies of a title for a book discussion group or for classroom use. Read more »

Batch Editing for Course Sites

8

Since the same courses are frequently offered from one semester and/or one academic year to the next, it would be great if course sites could be batch updated to change the start and end terms.  This change would be useful only if other course site information (e.g. name, instructor) remained the same over time.

Provide Access to Bibliographic Data in Proper Format

12

We would like to have the output from reports include bibliographic data in proper format, with the same punctuation and case that appear in the MARC records and in the catalog.  Currently the system uses normalized data, and there's no way to correct this.  It's possible to transform the test into title case in external programs, but not to handle a title like "Richard III comes to the USA."  The missing punctuation is also complicated to deal with.  These problems make it difficult to use reports to generate any sort of report to be seen by the public without either pr Read more »

Add an option to clear an alert message when the alert is triggered.

14

In Horizon, we had the option to clear a checkin message when it was triggered (a separate button from the Ok button.)  The checkin message would then be deleted and that was it.  Now, if we want to clear the message, we have to go in and edit the item.  I don't want circ staff to have to deal with editing items at the desk, so these things usually end up being sent to tech services.

Be able to add/edit alert messages on other libraries' items

This could be a separate alert message from checkin or checkout (call it a courtesy alert.)   Staff at non-owning libraries would be able to add or edit this message. Read more »

Separate checkin and checkout alerts

11

Many alerts are necessary only during one of these operations, so the ability to control when they trigger would be helpful.

Example: Some libraries only want to see content alerts ("Check for 2 CDs and one booklet.") at checkin, but not at checkout.  For patrons checking out lots of CDs, the alert greatly slows down the checkout process.

Select records from catalog search results and add to bucket

12

We want to have a way to do a search in the catalog, select a group of records from the search results, and be able to add the bib records to a record bucket and/or the your library's items to an item bucket.   This would be a lot less time-consuming than the current process where you can only deal with one record at a time. The advanced search interface support simple Boolean search, but does not offer a means to create more complex searches.
